The NCC Benevolent Fund's helpline provider Care first,  has teamed up with Woebot to offer 24/7 in the moment support via AI App Woebot.

The app is available to anyone, via the Care first website www.care-first.co.uk

What (Who) is Woebot?

Woebot is an artificial intelligence counsellor which allows a user to access in the moment emotional support 24/7. Woebot allows a user to track their mood, identify patterns and give insight into particular issues or concerns that the user may not have realised were causing emotional distress. Woebot can teach the user techniques and tools such as cognitive behavioural therapies or breathing exercises. Over time Woebot will also learn from each individual user to better understand what does or doesn't work for that particular individual.

One of the biggest benefits of using Woebot with Care first is that each user can be signposted/connected to a Care first professionally trained counsellor.

Care first and Woebot

Working with Care first’s BACP Accredited Counsellors, Woebot offers ‘in the moment’ emotional support to more employees than any other clinical method.

Woebot has been clinically validated for symptoms of depression and anxiety. Woebot tackles financial worries, relationship problems, chronic pain, sleep, exercise, loneliness, grief, addiction, and procrastination. Woebot constantly learns about the issues that people are faced with, allowing our psychologists to rapidly develop programmatic content for those issues.

How does it work?

How to access Woebot?

This COVID-19 version of Woebot is completely free for anyone to access, not just employees who have access to
the regular Care first EAP offerings. When accessing the Care first website you will see the below in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. As the site is mobile optimised, users can also chat to Woebot using their smart device.

The chat bot will not remember any of the conversation history and only asks the users name and no additional data is collected.
